About Deke August

Wohler Realty Group is pleased to announce the addition of long-time area Broker, Deke August to the WRG team at the Gristmill Office in Manchester. Deke is an accomplished and experienced broker with a deep knowledge of the area, having been the Owner and Principle Broker of Dorset Village Properties for over 28 years.

 

Deke brings a wealth of knowledge and marketing insights to the Wohler Realty Group Team. Throughout his 28-year tenure at DVP, August carved a niche in marketing premium residential properties and overseeing large tract management across the Northshire region. His expertise extends to advising clients on various real estate intricacies, from conservation and protection easements to navigating Current Use programs, 1031 exchanges, and sensitive sub-division matters. Deke also champions innovative investment strategies, including Charitable Remainder Trusts, fostering responsible and forward-thinking real estate practices in the area. Beyond his professional endeavors, Deke has been deeply involved in the local community contribution. He co-founded he Dorset Chamber of Commerce and has served on the Board of the Dorset Theater Festival. Along with his parents and others, he was part of the group that spearheaded the founding of the Dorset Hollow Corporation, which led to the preservation of 1,000 acres in the Hollow, protecting it from potential ski resort development. He will continue to represent and market premium residential properties and land parcels in the Dorset, Rupert, Pawlet and Manchester area.
